Each MYfilter appliance can be configured with a single ROOT policy that will control all users and group access. This policy can then be further refined by setting individual or group policies. All these options can be time dependent and additionally, access to types of web sites can be time limited.

A simple scenario policy
For this example, we look at an organisation with 4 main departments, Call Centre, I.T., Sales and Marketing, Accounts and a Senior Management Team.

Bullet PointSet ROOT Policy to prevent access to all pornographic and illegal web content.

Bullet PointSet a Policy for call centre staff to prevent access to all web sites except a specific white list of sites with Spacerdirect relevance to their day to day duties.

Bullet PointSet Policy for Sales and Marketing and Accounts departments to block access to all non business websites.

Bullet PointSet Policy for I.T. Department to allow downloads and permit access to all business orientated web
Spacercontent.

Bullet PointSet Policy for Senior Management to access to all business orientated web content with additional access Spacerto travel and new sites.

Advanced policy management can be employed to allow staff access to non-business web content for only one hour a day. As users attempt to access non-business web sites they are informed that theses sites are restricted and can be only accessed for one hour per day and asks if they want to start using the site. If they do accept the terms and conditions they will be allowed access to non-business sites for one hour and after that time period access with be blocked. The settings for this are configurable to your needs.

In this fashion it is possible to configure any level of refinement to allow custom policies for each and every group or user within your organisation.
