East Dunbartonshire Council adopted Serendipity's MYmailSAFE solution in 2004.

"Serendipity's MYmailSAFE product and Management Service offered the Council distinct benefits against the competition and their technical support has been outstanding".
Colin McLeod - Team Leader, ICT Infrastructure Services.

"MYmailSAFE and the Managed Service we took up with it saved us 3 days per week of a Network Engineer's valuable time and associated cost. In addition, we have improved service and performance to our users whilst reducing Service Desk workload".
Vince McNulty - Head of Information & Communications Technology.

East Dunbartonshire's ICT Department provides core support services for almost 22,000 School pupils and Teachers, as well as over 1,300 Corporate Network Users across the other Council Departments who serves a population approaching 110,000 people.

In real terms, MYmailSAFE manages Email connection and provides differentiated content analysis for almost 50,000 Email accounts for all employees and children from nursery age through to school-leaving stage.

MYmailSAFE's Personal Profiling capabilities enable each group or individuals Email requirements to be tailored appropriately under the umbrella of the Council's Corporate Policy and Education Departments Sub-Policy for Internet & Email Use.

The relevance of MYmailSAFE's simple Policy Profiling capabilities was particularly important to East Dunbartonshire's educational environment where being able to quickly define who can access who, what, when and which Emails (and their attachments) will be allowed or blocked - both for inbound and outbound messages has child safety implications today.

A key security consideration for East Dunbartonshire Council, like all organisations today, is protecting confidential data and MYmailSAFE offered the added bonus of its 'Document Security Module' which blocks pre-determined content from leaving defined networks. With Electronic Government initiatives very much on the way, this feature will become increasingly important in meeting strict content management regulations.

Dual FailSAFE Appliance Servers host the MYmailSAFE software centrally within the Councils Data Centre with onboard Anti-Virus protection also provided. Secure Remote Access is also facilitated for Serendipity to manage all elements of the hardware & software solution.

Since adopting MYmailSAFE, East Dunbartonshire Council have also bought Serendipity's MYfilter/MYiNTERNET solutions for managing Internet Acceptable Use for employees and for Public Access Desktop PCs in Libraries and other Council locations.
